Web 2.0 in Local Public Health

  • Project Team: Gillian Mayman,  UM Health Sciences Libraries; Alison Grodzinski, PRC
  • Project Dates: 2007-2009
  • Funding: National Library of Medicine Midwest

The PRC partnered with the University of Michigan Health Sciences Libraries, and the Genesee County and Monroe County Health Departments, to integrate Web 2.0 technologies into public health practice. The project team conducted training and worked with health department staff to develop projects using these technologies. This research will result in a model for local public health departments incorporating Web 2.0 and social technologies into their communication and information sharing methods.
