PRC-MI celebrates more than 20 years of community collaboration

This week, past and present PRC-MI partners, faculty and staff came together to recognize and celebrate over two decades of partnership. It was an opportunity to acknowledge the dedication of each of our partner groups and reflect on our accomplishments.

Our focus on  health equity and reducing health disparities has been at the core of many projects over the years. Speak to Your Health Community Survey helped establish support for the creation the Genesee Health Plan, and continues to provide valuable data to the community each year. The HOPE project focused on HIV/AIDS within the African-American community. The Youth Violence Prevention Center employs a multi-intervention approach to reduce violence between and toward youth in our community.

Although CDC funding will officially end  March of 2015, we look forward  to working with our partners to improve the health and safety in Genesee County for many years to come.
