National Youth Violence Prevention Week (NYVPW) 2018 begins next week. Each year, organizations across the country participate in this week-long educational initiative with the goal of creating safe and positive environments within our schools and communities.

This year, we will be co-hosting a Q&A on Facebook. We will be joined by the Division of Violence Prevention experts from Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC). The Q&A will take place on March 22 at 12 pm EST. If you would like to participate, please visit the Facebook Event page to RSVP.

You can keep tabs on this and other events happening during NYVPW 2018 by using the hashtags #YVPW2018, #YVPW, and #NYVPW. Students Against Violence Everywhere (SAVE) also has a lot of resources including activities, how to get involved and an Action Kit.

The Division of Violence Prevention is the funding and organizing partner within CDC for MI-YVPC and the other five current national YVPCs. As one of several other initiatives, they provide a collection of online violence education tools through VetoViolence.
