The goal of our research is to develop sustainable strategies for disease prevention and health promotion for families and communities. To ensure success, we have established strong and committed partnerships among community-based organizations, health departments, health advocacy groups, health service providers, and academic institutions. These collaborations are guided by RESPECTFUL© research principles.
We strive to engage our stakeholders in all stages of the research process. We work with community partners to identify and prioritize health needs, develop, implement, and evaluate programs and policies; and sustain and disseminate successful interventions after research ends. Our partners work together to build community capacity through technical assistance and training in research methods, data analysis, program evaluation, and grant-writing. We also provide data, tools, and programs that can be used by community agencies to further their missions.
Finally, we develop effective and innovative communication strategies to share health information and research results.
